Seaglass Bangle
Seaglass Bangle
Handmade solid sterling silver bangle featuring a beautiful piece of seaglass, collected by hand from the Waterford coastline. The bangle features an organically shaped sea glass charm and a small disc of silver dusted with sea foam.
Seaglass takes many years to form, first shattering from bottles and discarded windows, and then eroding in the waves, smaller and smaller, and rounder and rounder. Some pieces could date back 200 years to when glass first started commonly being used in Ireland and being lost or discarded at sea, eroded by the turbulent Irish coastline.
The bangle is made of solid sterling silver providing a durable weighty feel while being comfortable to wear. A protective home for the quiet beauty of the Waterford coastline.
Every element is lovingly handcut, shaped, hammered, filed and soldered. The smooth reflective silver, a contrast to the frosty organically formed sea glass.
Because each bangle is made using genuine seaglass, the exact shape and size of the glass can never be fully controlled, and natural variations are part of what make these handmade pieces so special. You can choose your preferred seaglass colour, but every bangle will feature a piece of sea glass that slightly differs in shape, texture and form.
Started by the sea, finished in my workshop, worn by you.

These pieces are made to order. Therefore there is a 3 week lead time.

Sea glass is dainty and roughly 1cm in width and height although this is highly variable due to the organic nature of sea glass.
